Information For Parents

Do you want to know why students thrive in school? Because of the involvement of caring and concerned parents like you! After all, YOU are your child's first and most influential teacher! You know more about your child's moods, likes, dislikes, health, and home-life (good and bad) than anyone else. You want what is best for your child; however, you may be questioning how to be the best parent you can as your child grows. You may want advice about everything from working with your child on homework to the best ways to discipline your child. Feel free to contact your school counselor or principal for helpful information.

Research studies consistently point out that students with involved parents, no matter what their income or background, are more likely to earn higher test scores, and grades. Additionally, research shows that these students have fewer behavioral problems, have higher self-esteem, have better attendance, better social and survival skills, and are less likely to become involved in drugs, violence or other dangerous activities! Wow! It really does make sense for schools and families to be partners in educating our children.

Please don't forget that your schools are also wonderful sources for information. All you need to do is ask! Teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators realize that the partnership between parents and schools is paramount to the success of our students! Neither parents nor schools can support the success of students alone. It truly takes all of us working together to raise a child!

Thank you for visiting! Together we can make a difference!
